Your Guide to Buying Commercial Printers

02/01/23

Buying a copier or printer for your office or business is not a decision to take lightly. You and your staff will be using this machine multiple times a day, possibly for years. At Merrimack Valley Business Machines, supplying and maintaining commercial printers and copiers is what we do, so we understand everything that goes into purchasing these machines.

Here’s what you should bear in mind when shopping for commercial printers.

Your Office Needs

Start by thinking about why your office needs a printer. Do you print out several, maybe even hundreds, of documents a day? Or do you usually print graphics and images rather than text? Both the volume of printing and the type of print jobs you do factor into what kind of printer you need. Consider the cost per page to determine what kind of ink or toner works with your office’s budget. You will also need to consider what other features you need from your office printer. If you do anything other than print files from a computer, you want to look into the available features. For example, you may need your printer to also be a scanner, copier, and fax machine.

Your Office Space

The next thing to think about is your office itself. How much space to have? If you have a small office, you don’t want to get a machine that is so big it takes up half the room. Where do you plan to keep the printer? If this is the only printer for your office, you will want to keep it in a central location. In that case, you will need to ensure that you get a printer with Wi-Fi capabilities, as not everyone will be able to plug it into their computers.

Your Office Future

Your final considerations should pertain to the life of your printer and how long it will last. Do your research and find the most reliable brands. At MVBM, we’re proud to supply Toshiba machines that have an excellent reputation for longevity and reliability. How easy it is to maintain a particular printer is also something to take into account. You want the regular maintenance that you will be doing, like replacing the toner or refilling the paper tray, to be easy. You also want a machine that a service technician can easily and reliably work on. Finally, check that the model you want has a good warranty that covers defects and malfunctions.   commercial printers
